Jo Kennedy - Artistic Director

Jo Kennedy has worked in theatre since graduating from Exeter University with a degree in Drama. She has worked as an actor, stage manager, technician and lighting designer. She has toured Germany with White Horse Theatre Company playing Lady Swigwell in The Great Detective, Advert Girl in Light Fingers and Mrs. Rumple in The Empty Chair. She has toured the UK with Treasure Island. She has worked at many London fringe venues in many roles including lighting designer at Upstairs at the Gatehouse, Stage manager and assistant director at Pentameters and stage manager at The Pleasance. Jo has attended the Edinburgh festival 5 times, 4 times as an actor (Fame, Opposites Attract and dotty Quavers), once as lighting designer and technician for numerous shows and once as senior Technician at C Venues largest theatre. She now has her own theatre company ‘a single leaf’ and is currently producing and performing in their latest production Finding Alice.

 

Jessica Swale - Associate Director

Jessica trained as a Director at Central School of Speech and Drama, having previously gained a First Class Drama Degree from the University of Exeter. As a freelance director Jessica has worked for companies including Shakey Isles Theatre, The Drama Loft: New York and London Ensemble. Recent credits include Lost Luggage  at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, Bare and Baghdad Baby at Camden People's Theatre, Medeia (movement direction) at the Union Theatre and Queer Bent for the Tudor Gent at the American GLobe, New York. As assistant director, Jessica has worked at the National Theatre/ Out of Joint with  Max Stafford-Clark, Greenwich Theatre and at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter. Jessica also mentors and teaches at drama schools and colleges including Central and London Drama School, and is currently training as a LAMDA examiner.

 

Sara Marie Bradley - Founding Member

Sara Marie Bradley graduated from the University of Salford in 2006 and has since appeared in various roles including Ivy in The Happy Tree (Venture Productions, 2008) and The Importance of being Earnest (Shooting Fish Theatre Company, 2007). While training she played the role of The un-happy mistress in Boots and Pancakes, directed by Olwen May (2003), Mary in The Beauty Queen of Lennane (2004), Carmen in House of illusions, Based on The Balcony by Gene Genet (2005) and Carol in Shakers (John Godber) all for Aspects theatre. Sara has also worked as a resident vocalist for Warner Holidays performing in shows entitled Lights, Camera, Action and Best of British, Movies Movies Movies, Back to the 70’s and trains and boats and planes. Directing credits include Buck's Fizz the Musical (Trinity Youth Theatre, 2007) It Stemmed from this… (2006) and Piece of Mind for Greencat Theatre Company (2006). As a founding member of 'a single leaf', Sara is very excited about the company's future both at the Edinburgh festival and beyond.
